just dual boot you idiot
:dolefrog:
I'd forgotten about that. Was just off watching a Youtube video about the VERY SIMPLE process. My iMac is 3.3 Ghz quad core i5, 24 (lol) GB of DDR3 Ram, AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4GB... so presumably it'll work fine :chin:. How big a partition? Have a 1TB drive so have space to play with.

Well if its solely for that game, Windows10 minimum + red alert minimum * 1.5 for some headroom then divide by fuck off moses
Ffs Windows takes ages to think about loading up and then goes to a blue screen saying it fucked up and needs to restart (not like the old school blue screen of death). HELP.

Installed WINDOWS via BOOTCAMP and it just goes to the Windows loading screen for a while then spacks out and goes to a blue failure screen and says Driver PNP Watchdog error.
REEEEEE. How do I fix this?
Malcolm Tucker

change boot mode to legacy and see if it works then
How can I do that if I can't get into Windows at all? It doesn't load fully and then fail after a while... it fails before getting past the loading screen.
APOLOGIES FOR BEING RETARDED.

in the bios, I'm just guessing mostly but I know if it's fresh install of windows and not a hardware issue it will be the very basic drivers fucking up. Usually if it's booting in a way it doesn't like.
Lvl 45 on my priest now
Haven’t played for a few days
Will we be able to play 4v4 multiplayer when this comes out

Buy a PS5, PC nerds are having meltdowns about its capabilities
Malcolm Tucker
06-06-2020, 18:46
Doubt it, unless you splash out on a 4k tv you're still stuck at 1080p
If you have the money, a PC will always deliver the best resolution and fps, and the best controls for the games PC gamers enjoy the most, like shooters and strategy like CIMMAND N CONKER
I'm not even a fanboy, I have a ps4 and I have had every previous version as well as your mum
In terms of what you get for your money, consoles are better.
The PS5/Series X will do 8k at 60fps, for 500 quid.
How much you splash out on a PC to do that? Double?
Malcolm Tucker
06-06-2020, 19:14
Yep, that's why I said 'if you have the money' not 'on a budget'
Plus anyway it's not 500 quid to do 8k unless you happen to already own an 8k tv, it's 500 quid + new 8k tv

Nah seriously the PS5 is from the ground up a different beast, constructed around the SSD and it's capabilities something that PC in its current form cannot do. There's excellent technical discussions on YouTube if you fancy nerding out.

It's quality and I have 0 worries about my job. I'm safe! I think when we return a lot of us are gonna be enquiring about working from home more often. I never even considered it before, all I do is finance related and I don't need to be in the office to do it. As Luke would say MINT!!!

yeah same, i’m lucky in that it’s fairly secure. i had been trying to get more and more wfh because my commute was an hour each way. but this new office is a fifteen minute walk so I don’t mind too much. will still gun for a decent amount of wfh though. maybe two days a week or whatever. i do miss being in the office now!

It'll never be the same again for offices I don't think, it's disarmed the entire argument bosses would have had for years to their employees that they can't work from home, it's too much hassle, it's not practical etc. They've had to set it all up now, laptops, VPNs, Teams etc.
It's still good to meet up with coworkers every so often obviously but rigidly having people trudge in to sit at a desk Mon-Fri now looks rather pointless.
The government should encourage it too, it'll help hit climate targets, ease congestion massively, probably free up space in the long-term to bin off big expensive office parks and build houses there instead
All true. Loads of people will still want to work in offices every day though, and obvs there will be a significant number of people who don’t really have the space to work from home (with a decent desk/chair setup). I’m pretty lucky in that I have a home office, but most don’t.
Was lol seeing stories about how developers are now thinking about future proofing by putting office space in flats etc (not necessarily a separate office with the smaller ones obvs). After years and years of new build flats being pumped out without that being considered at all. Friend who bought a new build flat down the road has to have his set up in the kitchen/lounge because the bedrooms are tiny. In the past not a massive problem, but he’d be screwed if it was him and someone else working from home for example (which is possible given he wants a lodger). A ridiculous proportion of ‘starter homes/flats’ built in recent times won’t have space for two people to work from home long term.

I worry if doesn't happen after this, it'll never happen. This has reset the way we do things by force, and the "but it'll crash the economy" bit is done, over, it's crashed. Our GDP this year is in the pan, why not get something worthwhile out of it?
I'm saving about 1800 quid a month by not commuting. Work expect to reopen our London offices by September 1st,but anyone who doesn't want to commute can continue to WFH until 2021.
Nice.

Haven't played it because my Mac didn't in fact just work :waiting:. Saw some videos from a streamer and it seems like online it's just about spamming tanks and then the game ending with tank battles after the ore runs out. Boring AF. I imagine the campaigns are decent fun and worth it for £20.
We need a Red Alert 2 remaster.

I quite like bf1, nice break from just being fodder for jets and choppers but it is close quarters a lot, feels more like cod sometimes, bf2 was the best, it had everything balanced quite nicely and you don't have to hit people a ridiculous amount of times with the basic guns to score a kill, it's just dominated by nerds now who absolutely rape the maps with every possible little gap and angle they've found after playing it nonstop for 10 years aka stag
Yeah, BF2 was epic. Sometimes it'd get pretty bad if they had good people in jets and helicopters just spawn raping. I liked playing infantry only on BF2. Used to reeeee when people had stupid 'no fighting commanders' rules... because I could do that role whilst also fighting on the ground because I'm not a spacker... and didn't want to just resign as commander/not take up that role because if it's done reasonably well it's hugely influential.
Personally quite enjoyed BF1. The stuff I hate is all the high tech bullshit on some of the COD games where there can be constant UAVs and jumping round with rocket packs. BF2 felt about right in that regard.

Anyone tried Stadia, I got the founders edition, it's actually really good. I'd say graphically better than PS4 Pro but limited games at the moment.
Got it on launch day. Played it for a few weeks, havent touched it since.

I really liked Dig Underworld. It's the games that's killing it at the moment, love the concept. Hopefully it can evolve and grow.
