Yes, but it's about the creeping up of insulin resistance; there's a genetic factor for how long you can get away with it.

If the system wants us to do something, there'll be plenty of ostensibly authoritative 'studies' to show we should be doing it.

They couldn't uphold the idea that drinking wasn't harmful, so they get us to believe it's okay in small measures, otherwise it would harm the drink industry.

They want us to eat high carb diets because it's so much cheaper to mass produce this type of food for a world of 8 billion people.

Yes, I'm not saying eating high carb is a good idea for non-diabetics, just that it doesn't spike their blood glucose any more than a low carb meal would, in many cases, because the pancreas is firing on all cylinders and takes it all in its stride. How us diabetics would love to have such a thing! I miss being able to eat normally. But you never know what you had until you lose it.

Yeah I dunno tbh, maybe there's an element of chicken and egg. Maybe for practical purposes it's moot, it's just wise to eat moderate carb at most. And get plenty of fat, both saturated and unsaturated, because it's good for us.

Your contention suggests high carb meals don't spike insulin, merely the pancreas loses its ability to release enough insulin. As I understand it the resistance is because the pancreas has to release more insulin to drop the higher blood sugar and its your body 'adapting' to the higher levels (that is post meal spikes) that lower your bodies reaction to insulin. Which means even with your body releasing what would historically have been enough insulin your body demands more and more for the same effect.
